Dentures
What makes CQR Dentures different is that we have benefited from pioneering work by a group of dental professionals and research scientists, on how we can now record how your bite works and the ability to transfer this accurately to your new dentures. CQR dentures are custom made to provide stable and effective dentures, helping resolve many of the problems caused by conventional dentures. These can often make a person look and feel older than they are and can restrict their everyday pleasure of eating and talking comfortably. With CQR dentures you will notice an improvement in your chewing abilities and through this you will have a wider range of food choices, even an ability to taste your food better.
The Science
How the CQR system works is by recording how the movements of the joints near your ears, which influence the movement of your lower jaw, can be recorded and then transfer this information to your new dentures. Research has shown that if you can do this, then the muscles of mastication (the muscles that power your lower jaw) will develop and become stronger. All other denture techniques that we have in dentistry will in fact turn your muscles off and the muscles will gradually get weaker, hence the reason why people with dentures find their food choices becoming limited. The improvement of the muscles was originally discovered by two blind studies from two different countries, which resulted into significant research results from one of the worlds leading Bio-mechanic departments within Loughborough University.
